Responsibilities
- Conduct quality assurance tests on radiological equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans that utilize radiation therapy effectively.
- Provide technical support for medical imaging modalities including CT and mammography.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies regarding radiation safety.
- Educate staff on the principles of medical physics, radiation safety, and proper equipment usage.
- Perform dosimetry calculations and assist in the calibration of radiation therapy machines.
- Stay updated on advancements in medical technology and practices related to physiology and anatomy.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Medical Physics or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and acute care practices.
- Experience with radiation therapy techniques and medical imaging technologies such as CT.
- Familiarity with critical care environments and protocols.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Certification by a recognized professional body (e.g., ABMP or ABR) is preferred but not mandatory.
