Medical Physicist – Radiation Oncology
Location: Dayton, Middleton, Ohio,

At DPN, our Medical Physicists play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, effectiveness, and precision of radiation treatments for our patients. We are proud to have all 6 of our Radiation Oncology Centers accredited by ASTRO APEx and our cancer program credentialed by MD Anderson.
Position Summary:
The Medical Physicist is responsible for ensuring optimal, safe, and effective patient care related to radiation treatments. This position will involve overseeing radiation treatment plans, performing dosimetry calculations, verifying tumor doses, conducting equipment calibration, and contributing to patient-specific quality assurance (QA).
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform dosimetry calculations for various radiation types (high energy x-rays, electrons, etc.) and equipment.
- Conduct final review of treatment plans and oversee treatment planning systems.
- Provide technical direction for radiation therapy, including treatment planning, patient monitoring, and accuracy of delivery.
- Lead linear accelerator beam analysis, calibration, and periodic maintenance.
- Participate in the evaluation of diagnostic and treatment modalities to ensure maximum patient benefit.
- Ensure accurate delivery of patient-specific QA.
- Oversee technology assessment, planning, and the purchase of major equipment, as well as equipment acceptance testing and commissioning.

Required Education & Experience:
- Master's degree in Physics, Medical Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or Biophysics (Doctorate preferred).
- Certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics or equivalent (American Board of Radiology, The American Board of Medical Physics, or The Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine).
- Minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience in a major radiation center.
Work Schedule:
- Monday – Friday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
