ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Chicago
Location: In-person at Chicago, IL
Shift: Full-time (12-hour shifts: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm or 7:00 pm – 7:30 am)
Position Overview:
As a critical member of our healthcare team, the ICU Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality, compassionate care for patients with complex, life-threatening conditions. You’ll be responsible for continuous monitoring, emergency response care, and managing life support systems, all while ensuring patient safety and comfort. This is an essential position that plays a key role in delivering exceptional care within our Intensive Care Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor patient vitals and administer emergency care as needed
- Operate and maintain ICU equipment, including ventilators, IABP, etc.
- Provide direct patient care, including wound care and post-operative monitoring
- Maintain accurate medical records and file reports
- Foster therapeutic relationships with patients and families through effective communication
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to improve clinical quality and care outcomes
- Ensure adherence to infection control practices, safety protocols, and regulatory standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to elevate patient care standards
- Assist with the development and achievement of departmental goals
- Be flexible in adapting to variable work hours as needed
Qualifications:
- Required: Active RN License
- Preferred: ADN, BSN, or MSN from an accredited nursing program
- Required Certifications: BLS CPR (AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network) and ACLS from American Heart Association
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in nursing; ICU or PACU experience preferred
- Ability to: Remain calm under pressure and handle critical situations
- Additional Skills: Knowledge of advanced ICU equipment and nursing techniques
