Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for our Neuro ICU department at Community Medical Center in Fresno, CA. This is a contract position requiring onsite presence, offering a competitive pay rate and rewarding work environment.
As a Neuro ICU RN, you will provide critical care for patients with neurological conditions, including brain injuries, strokes, and other complex neurological issues. You will be responsible for managing patient care, administering medications and solutions, and closely monitoring neurological and vital signs.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and solutions such as vasopressors and sedatives
- Manage airway and control body temperature
- Facilitate brain death testing and oversee organ donation/procurement processes
- Monitor and manage intracerebral pressure (ICP) levels
- Care for patients with extraventricular drains (EVD) in the brain
- Assess neurological status in both conscious and unconscious patients
- Provide palliative and end-of-life care
- Support and educate patients and families regarding care plans and procedures
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a Neuro ICU or similar critical care setting
- Skills:
- Expertise in Neuro ICU nursing practices
- Proficient in managing critical neurological patients
- Strong ability to assess, monitor, and respond to neurological emergencies
- Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Certifications: Current RN license, BLS, ACLS
Compensation:
- Hourly Pay Rate: $71.41/hr
