Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Gaylord, MI 49735 (Onsite)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (40 hours per week)
Compensation: $36.03 per hour
Job Summary:
Munson Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our Central Processing Department. In this essential role, you will be responsible for operating sterilization equipment, inspecting and decontaminating instruments and equipment, ensuring they meet cleanliness standards and proper functioning for patient safety. This is a full-time, contractor onsite position based in Gaylord, MI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sterilization & Inspection: Operate sterilization equipment and ensure instruments, equipment, and containers are properly cleaned and functional.
- Decontamination: Clean and sterilize soiled instruments, containers, and equipment according to the manufacturer's instructions for use (IFUs) and established protocols.
- Instrument Set Corrections: Correct instrument sets following established count sheets, tracking systems, and current standards.
- Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate levels of inventory for case carts to ensure availability.
- Quality Assurance: Perform regular audits of peer work to ensure compliance with quality assurance programs.
Requirements:
- Certifications: Current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification is required.
- Experience: Proven experience in sterile processing, including working with sterilization equipment and instrument inspection.
- Dress Code: Surgical scrubs must be worn during work hours.
