Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Clinical Nurse Manager to join our 7th Floor Telemetry Unit. This role is vital in leading the nursing team, ensuring quality patient care, and supporting professional growth within the department. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, an advocate for best practices, and passionate about mentoring others in a collaborative healthcare setting.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Support
- Serve as a resource and mentor for clinical decision-making and patient care interventions.
- Provide visible, hands-on leadership, ensuring seamless communication between nurses, case managers, social workers, physicians, and other care team members.
- Empower staff through recruitment, retention, and professional development initiatives.
- Foster a positive work environment and encourage shared decision-making.
Patient Care & Quality Improvement
- Oversee patient care coordination and continuity across different care settings.
- Implement and uphold evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes.
- Analyze patient care plans, evaluate effectiveness, and adjust interventions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and safety standards.
Staff Development & Education
- Provide ongoing mentorship and performance feedback to nursing staff.
- Facilitate education sessions, case studies, and competency assessments.
- Support the development of patient education materials and self-management guides.
Technology & Data Utilization
- Leverage healthcare technology to improve patient outcomes and efficiency.
- Use data analytics to evaluate performance metrics and recommend improvements.
- Document care accurately to ensure appropriate resource utilization.
Qualifications Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field (or current enrollment) preferred.
- Current Illinois RN license in good standing.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (for critical care and ER).
- Previous leadership or management experience in a Telemetry, Critical Care, or Acute Care setting preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong clinical expertise and knowledge of evidence-based nursing practices.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to manage complex patient care and collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in technology and data-driven decision-making.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role requires frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, and reaching. Candidates should be comfortable handling patient care-related activities in a fast-paced hospital environment. Exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous substances, and varying temperatures may occur.
