Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The LPN will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting with various medical procedures, and supporting the nursing staff in delivering exceptional healthcare services. The ideal candidate will have experience in urgent care settings and possess strong assessment skills to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Duties
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs to evaluate patient conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Assist with catheterization, gastric lavage, and other medical procedures.
- Provide support in medical imaging processes as needed.
- Collaborate with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, medication usage, and follow-up care.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records, including the use of Epic software.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Work effectively within a Level I Trauma Center setting, providing care for patients of all ages, including geriatrics.
Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
- Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of various medical procedures.
- Experience in urgent care or similar healthcare settings is preferred.
- Strong patient assessment skills with the ability to recognize changes in patient conditions.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating independence when necessary.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Epic, is an advantage.
