Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The LPN will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in various settings, including clinics and facilities that support individuals with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a commitment to patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Duties
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform nursing procedures such as gastric lavage, IV insertion, venipuncture, and catheterization.
- Assist in airway management and monitor patients' vital signs.
- Participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient information accurately using electronic health records systems such as Cerner.
- Provide support for individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid LPN license in the state of practice.
- Experience working in clinical settings preferred; familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Proficient in performing nursing tasks such as IV insertion, venipuncture, catheterization, and gastric lavage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of discharge planning processes and patient education techniques.
- Ability to manage airway emergencies effectively.
