Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual care and counseling to patients, families, and staff in a compassionate manner.
- Conduct regular visits to individuals in healthcare settings, offering emotional support during times of crisis or grief.
- Facilitate bereavement support groups and provide resources for families coping with loss.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address the spiritual needs of patients and their families.
- Plan and lead religious services, memorials, and special events as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of visits and interactions while respecting confidentiality.
- Engage in conflict management by addressing concerns or disputes with sensitivity and understanding.
- Utilize public speaking skills to deliver messages of hope and encouragement during services or community events.
- Remain present and accessible to individuals seeking guidance or support.
Requirements
- A degree in theology, divinity, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience in hospice care or similar settings is highly desirable.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to navigate sensitive situations effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear interaction with diverse populations.
- Proven ability to provide bereavement support with empathy and understanding.
- Event planning experience is a plus for organizing services and community outreach activities.
- Demonstrated crisis management skills to assist individuals during challenging times.
