Job Description
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care as part of Unity's dedicated healthcare team.
- Provide basic nursing care.
- Record nursing care given and report to the appropriate team member changes in the condition of a patient.
- Assist with the development and revision of a nursing care plan.
- Reinforce the teaching provided by a registered nurse and provide basic health care instruction.
- Perform delegated nursing acts beyond basic nursing care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
- Monitor IV fluids on controlled infusion pumps as directed by a registered nurse.
- Maintain level of competency in required areas.
- Comply with all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Unity.
- Satisfy mandatory training requirements regarding local, state and federal regulations and/or Unity's policies and procedures.
- Consistently and concisely document activity according to department protocols and standards.
- Promote and maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain personal and professional boundaries.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Shares in providing seven days-a-week coverage.
