What are the responsibilities and job description for the High Risk Advocate position at Unity House of Troy?
New position at Unity House of Troy's Domestic Violence program.
Do you have a passion for helping victims of domestic violence work with law enforcement? If so, this is the position for you! Unity House is seeking a High-Risk Advocate to provide advocacy, specifically between law enforcement and victims, and provide support through the criminal justice process for those who are at the highest risk of lethality due to domestic violence. This position is an evening position which includes responding to police calls.
Responsibilities
Provide emergency assistance for victims and survivors of domestic violence seeking assistance
Provide emotional support, crisis intervention and safety planning
Provide information, referrals and linkages to supportive services
Provide on site support to law enforcement and victims for Domestic Incidents
Assist in communication and follow up with law enforcement and victims
Participate in collaboration efforts including attendance at Coordinated Community Response Meetings
Complete contract and/or regulatory compliance activities
Promote a work culture of inclusion and belonging
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; 2 or more years of related experience. Associates degree with 3 or more years of related experience may be considered. Clean and valid NYS driver’s license is required. Reliable transportation. Ability to work evenings and respond to police calls.
