Unity Mobile Phlebotomy is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our growing mobile phlebotomy team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling billing operations, insurance claims, and patient invoicing to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and submit insurance claims for mobile phlebotomy services
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage
- Review and correct claim errors to prevent denials
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resubmit when necessary
- Generate patient invoices and manage payment collections
- Maintain accurate records of billing transactions and insurance payments
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry standards
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers as needed
Qualifications:
- Experience in medical billing, preferably in phlebotomy or laboratory services
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 coding, and insurance claim processing
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing procedures
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Certification in medical billing and coding (preferred but not required)
