Grounds Worker, Golf II

Description

Position Summary:     

Provide maintenance services for Unity’s golf course.

Essential Job Functions:        

1. Operate mowing equipment that is required to maintain a golf course.  
2. Operate power hand tools.  
3. Hand watering of greens and other areas as needed.
4. Perform routine golf course tasks including cut and change pin placements, rake sand traps.
5. Perform routine daily tasks including mowing, weed eating, planting and applying fertilizers or chemicals.
6. Perform winter maintenance on mowing units – grind and sharpen reels, disassemble, analyze, replace needed parts, assemble and adjust mowing units.
7. Repair irrigation heads, valves and piping.
8. Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule. – this position is not a remote or telecommute position.
9. Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety guidelines.
10. Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid off request.
11. Ability to work weekends during golfing season and in the months of November-March working Mon-Thurs.

Non-Essential Job Functions:

1. Conduct golf car maintenance or repairs, as needed.
2. Work on call for after-hours duties (weekends and holidays) as required.

Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:     

1. 18 years of age. 
2. 2 years’ experience working in golf course maintenance.
3. Good Customer service skills.

Computer Skills:         

Certificates & Licenses:

• Missouri pesticide licenses or willing to obtain. 

Qualifications

Non-Essential Job Functions:

1. Snow removal, as needed.
2. Conduct golf car maintenance or repairs, as needed.
3. Work on call for after hour duties (weekends and holidays) as required.

Qualifications

Education:  High School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:     

1. 18 years of age. 
2. 3 years’ experience in landscape or grounds care.
3. 6 months of landscape machinery equipment and farm machinery experience. 
4. Good Customer service skills to assist campus patrons with directions or other requests.

Computer Skills:         

Certificates & Licenses:

• Missouri Chauffeurs license or willing to obtain once employed. 
• Bucket truck certification or willing to obtain once employed.
