Job Title: Environmental Compliance Specialist

Location: Hybrid – 3 days onsite in Austin, TX

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Compliance Specialist with a strong background in consumer electronics or a comparable hardware product development environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in engineering design, electromechanics, and compliance assessments to support environmentally sustainable and regulation-compliant hardware development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support environmental compliance processes by identifying materials/components impacting product safety and sustainability.
- Interpret mechanical and electromechanical designs, recognizing potential ingress pathways and compliance concerns.
- Collaborate with engineering, program management, and cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data for compliance evaluations.
- Manage documentation, traceability, and tracking of material and design changes across multiple systems and assemblies.
- Review and understand technical drawings (2D/3D), engineering specifications, and electrical schematics.
- Contribute to the development of internal processes and procedures to maintain compliance standards.
- Operate efficiently in a fast-paced, multitasking environment with shifting priorities.
Required Skills & Experience
- Prior experience in consumer electronics or similar hardware engineering environment.
- Knowledge of electromechanical systems, technical drawing interpretation, and engineering documentation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, maintain attention to detail, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proactive, collaborative mindset.
- Passion for environmental sustainability and user safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with compliance standards (e.g., RoHS, REACH, WEEE) is a plus.
- Background in program or project management within hardware development is advantageous.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
