Role description

The opportunity

The Product Business Intelligence team at Unity is central to facilitating data-driven decision-making, identifying business growth opportunities, and designing impactful analytical tools. Unity currently operates two Ad Networks, both of which are under the scope of work for this team; it is an exciting and challenging environment that requires an ability to grapple with abstractions and boil down complexity into what is relevant.

We are looking for an analytical, communicative, and versatile Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team in SF. Your day-to-day will involve analyzing large ad delivery datasets for insights, developing interactive data tools and dashboards for the BI team and its stakeholders, owning data reporting pipelines, and working cross-functionally across Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Business teams to drive forward product initiatives.

What you'll be doing

Analyzing large datasets from multiple ads products to uncover trends, generate actionable insights, and guide product development.

Aid in the life-cycle development and strategy for emerging product objectives by providing data-driven recommendations.

Design, develop, and maintain advanced dashboards and reports to monitor product performance and empower product teams to make informed decisions.

Promote understanding of the domain and ensure stakeholder alignment through active, crisp, and concise communication.

Act as a subject matter expert in BI tools and practices, mentoring junior developers and sharing best practices for BI development and data analysis.

Proactively take initiative to identify critical problems worth solving and align efforts with product teams to address them.

What we're looking for

Ability to identify project opportunities in a dynamic organization

Ability to independently plan and execute on data analyses and development projects

Expert skills in working with tabular data using BigQuery

Proficiency in producing self-contained and reproducible data analyses with tools such as Python or R

The ability to draw compelling and insightful data visualizations

Experience dashboarding with tools such as Looker, Tableau or similar

Good communication and interpersonal skills with different collaborators across teams, as well as a self-starter who can operate and drive work to completion independently

You might also have

Working knowledge of statistics and methods such as significance testing

Experience with ETL practices and tools such as Forge, Pyspark

Adtech and / or mobile gaming industry experience

Previous experience communicating and presenting technical concepts to various audiences

Data development with Looker
