Job Summary
The Environmental Services Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within healthcare facilities. This position involves performing various cleaning and sanitizing tasks to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will contribute to the overall well-being of patients and staff by upholding high standards of cleanliness.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Utilize appropriate cleaning agents and equipment in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Conduct floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing as needed.
- Dispose of waste materials following established protocols to maintain safety and cleanliness.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as directed by supervisors or management.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages as necessary.
- Follow all infection control procedures to minimize the risk of contamination.
Skills
- Experience in commercial cleaning or environmental services is preferred.
- Knowledge of custodial practices, including proper cleaning techniques and equipment usage.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to workplace safety and sanitation.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Excellent time management skills to efficiently complete assigned tasks within designated timeframes.
- Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is an advantage but not required.
