Responsibilities
Our Foot and Ankle Clinic is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team. The CMA will support healthcare providers by assisting with patient care, treatments, and administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, minor surgical procedures, and treatments related to foot and ankle care.
- Take patient histories, document symptoms, and measure vital signs for inclusion in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Prepare and maintain examination and treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness for procedures.
- Provide patient education on foot and ankle care, post-procedure instructions, and preventive measures.
- Apply and remove dressings, bandages, and other post-treatment materials.
- Assist with casting, splinting, and bracing as directed by the healthcare provider.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing referrals, and coordinating patient follow-ups.
- Administer injections, assist with routine lab tests, and ensure accurate charting and documentation.
- Adhere to clinic protocols and maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patients receive comprehensive and timely care.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Mandatory Reporter training.
- Previous experience in podiatry, orthopedics, or a foot and ankle specialty is preferred but not required.
