Responsibilities
As a CMA at Hiawath Northridge Family Medicine, you will work with patients performing, but not limited to the following:
- Function as a clinician, educator and resource for patients, both in person and via the patient portal.
- Prepare patient for provider visits, which includes history taking, vital sign measurement and medication reconciliation.
- Provide appropriate and timely documentation in the patient’s electronic health record using standardized workflows and processes.
- Preauthorize care, procedures and medications with insurance companies.
- Coordinate care and testing needs for the patient.
- Complete necessary forms for referrals and FMLA.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants
- Current CMA/RMA Certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA or NCT.
- High school diploma.
- BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
- Knowledge of clinical skill techniques, procedures, medical diagnoses, and treatments.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- A positive and team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to assist providers in professional manner.
