Overview
Framed within the mission, vision and community relations plan of Blank Children’s Hospital, the Community Services Coordinator will provide support to Program Coordinators during community outreach events. The coordinator will be responsible for injury prevention education to large groups of children and families in the community and in the Hannah Geneser Safety Store.
May be required to work days, evening and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Support Program Coordinators during community outreach events, educational conferences, and advocacy initiatives.
- Deliver injury prevention education to patients and families through the Hannah Geneser Learning Center and Safety Store and other outreach settings.
- Represent the Advocacy and Outreach team in a positive, professional manner
- Facilitate training and education sessions for large groups of children in community settings such as schools, camps, and local events.
- Manage confidential data and information
- Assist with the organization, planning, and execution of community programs.
- Coordinate logistics and materials for outreach activities.
- Travel locally to attend and support community events as needed.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English. Must be able to communicate effectively (written and orally) with people of diverse professional, educational and lifestyle backgrounds.
Experience: Fluent in basic computer skills. Previous experience providing injury prevention education preferred. Previous experience working with children and families in community settings is preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Self-motivated. Demonstrates professionalism. Planning and organizing skills. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable speaking in front of large groups and leading community presentations. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. Proficient with basic data management and reporting tools.
