Overview
Performs a variety of routine duties related to the preparation and serving of food: cleans kitchen area and cooking utensils. Complies with policy and procedures of JRMC and Dietary department while maintaining FOCUS Values.
Responsibilities
Position Accountabilities/Duties
- Sets up patient trays, cafeteria, catered events in accordance with established schedule and procedures.
- Cleans the kitchen area, cooking utensils and dishes.
- Operates dishwasher to ensure all dishes and utensils arc les.
- Prepares all menu items using standardized recipes.
- Prepares coffee and urns for food service.
- Prepares, loads, transports and cleans food carts.
- Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
- Maintains department records, reports and files as required.
- Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
- This position does not warrant access to patient records.
Basic UPH Performance Criteria
- Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
- Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
- Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
- Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, DIA, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
- Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
- Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Restaurant expreince preferred
- Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
- Use of customary equipment used to perform essential funtions of the position
