Grundy County Memorial Hospital
Grundy County Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Grundy Center, Iowa and is an affiliate of UnityPoint Health – Waterloo that is regionally and nationally recognized for patient experience and employee engagement. The hospital provides essential 24/7/365 emergency care, inpatient care and a wide variety of ambulatory and diagnostic services on-site. The Specialty Clinic hosts a variety of visiting specialist physicians and advanced practice providers to offer care within the community. Most recently, in September 2024, the hospital opened a $31 million addition including new Surgery and Imaging departments and a Laboratory expansion, solidifying the hospital’s commitment to provide top notch local healthcare.
- 8 FTE express care model located in Grundy Center, Iowa
- Walk-in clinic will operate as express model enhancing access for communities with affiliated primary care clinics in Grundy Center, Parkersburg, Eldora and Conrad
- Support acute needs and assist in closing the care gaps with patients needing after hours care.
- Flexible schedule covering afternoons/evenings and weekends
- Cohesive group of colleagues and supportive staff allowing for autonomy
- Experienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who know the patients and the community very well
- Clinic is co-located within hospital, allowing for onsite digital radiology and lab services, with an Emergency Department within the building
Responsibilities
- Provide quality care for patients of all ages
- Oversee urgent and primary care walk-in appointments
- Triage and manage patients to avoid ER visits and long wait times in the clinic
- Provide treatment within the scope of urgent care including physical examinations, assessments, diagnosis, and treatment
- Perform minor office procedures including laceration repair, incision and drainage, toenail removal, and orthopedic splinting
- Conducts and interpret diagnostic tests, provide education, and makes referrals as needed
- Work as a team member to coordinate care amongst primary and specialty care, to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- 1-2 years of primary care or urgent care experience preferred
- Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
- Eligible to work in the United States
