Overview:
Function as a fitness instructor in a variety of different exercise programming to enhance the overall health of the members of the PWA Fitness Center. Promote and encourage health lifestyles through a variety of different physical fitness modalities. Provides positive fitness experiences to all participants.
Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
- Designs class appropriate programming that accommodates all class participants
- Demonstrates how to carry out various exercises and routines
- Gives alternative exercises during workouts or classes for different levels of fitness and skill
- Monitor clients’ progress and adapt programs as needed
- Works with cliental all of ages and abilities
- Checks e-mail regularly to keep up to date on PWA Fitness Center and UPH current events
- Effectively communicates with the Wellness Specialist Supervisor about class retention, equipment needs and substitution requests.
Education:
- No minimum requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science preferred
- Ability to obtain a Group Exercise Instructor certification or specialized fitness certification in the first 6 months
- Group Instructor Certification preferred
- Personal Trainer certification preferred
- Two years’ experience in the fitness industry preferred
- Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
