UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital is a 204-bed, community hospital serving the Cedar Valley. Allen Hospital is the busiest hospital in the Cedar Valley. We care for more inpatients, outpatients, emergency patients and cardiac patients than any other hospital in our 10-county service area. United Medical Park and Prairie Parkway offer outpatient care in facilities that are built for your comfort and convenience.

• Well established, 16 member team (16 Physicians & 3 Advanced Practitioners) and growing
• Excellent specialty support
• 12-Bed ICU with Intensivist
• Average census around 100
• Telehospitalist service overnight
• Full-time night shift position 7p-7a
• Dedicated admitters and dedicated hospitalist nursing staff
• Blocked scheduling – 5 on 5 off
• Fully integrated system with clinic and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination

• Manage 80-90 non-ICU patients in cooperation with 1 overnight Telehospitalist
• Observation admissions, inpatient admission, cross-coverage
• Physician runs codes and rapids with support from APP
• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
• Improve the health of the people and communities we serve

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Board Certified
• Inpatient experience strongly preferred
• Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States
