Overview
Location: Onsite - Cedar Rapids, IA
As a member of the IT Data Management Software Development team, the Software Developer Intern will perform requirements gathering for Software Development directly with customers. Assists on local and enterprise IT projects and works collaboratively and closely with Software Development team members to perform necessary system upgrades, repairs, and maintenance on existing Software Development. As well as develop and configure new and existing Software Development efforts.
Responsibilities
What you'll do:
Department and Technical Support
Under direction from Manager, IT Data Management and/or their supervisors:
- Performs requirements gathering for Software Development directly with customers.
- Assists on local and enterprise IT projects.
- Works collaboratively and closely with Software Development team members to ensure customer satisfaction needs are accomplished in acceptable timeframes.
- Performs necessary system upgrades, repairs, and maintenance on existing Software Development.
- Installs, integrates, and configures new and existing Software Development efforts.
- Utilizes problem tracking system and procedures utilized by IT, and communicates needed changes to the system administrator.
Customer Service
- Works collaboratively and closely with Manager, IT Data Management, customers, other IT team members to ensure customer satisfaction needs are accomplished in acceptable timeframes.
- As directed, interacts with customers to ensure Software Development needs are met in acceptable timeframes.
Business Support
- As directed, supports various Software Development solutions as required and able.
- Completes special projects and required reports as assigned.
- Performs other duties as requested to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the department.
Qualifications
What you'll need:
- High School Diploma and enrollment in post-secondary education towards a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and software
- Requires strong oral and written communications skills to effectively work with all levels of management throughout the UnityPoint Health, its subsidiaries and affiliates.
- Must have basic telephone and typing skills
- Ability to work as a team member, creating and maintaining effective working relationships
- Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures
