Laboratory Assistant / Phlebotomist
Full Time, FTE 0.8
2nd Shift; 2 : 15pm-10 : 45pm
Location : Muscatine, IA
The Laboratory Assistant / Phlebotomist I is responsible for various specimen collection and processing procedures. The Phlebotomist I will be responsible for strictly adhering to detail in the performance of technical and laboratory procedures to meet necessary requirements of voluntary and government agencies.
Responsibilities
Phlebotomy
- Performs venous, arterial and capillary blood collection, processing and delivery of specimens to departments within Trinity Laboratory . Consistently demonstrates attention to detail in following protocol for patient, sample and identification and labeling.
- Educates others and maintains knowledge of departmental functions, policies and procedures including AIDET and Focus value.
- Assists with the training new employees, being helpful supportive in the teaching of new associates.
Quality Assurance
Qualifications
Education : High School diploma or equivalent. Phlebotomy course, Medical Assistant, Associate of Arts, preferred.
Experience : Experience with phlebotomy, preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities : Communication skills including reading, writing & speaking fluent english, Adaptability, customer / patient focused, Interpersonal skills and Self-development.
Lifting Requirements : Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
