Overview
The Laundry Worker supports the delivery of services to UnityPoint Health-Des Moines (UPH-DM) and outside clinics through the efficient and timely delivery and management of linens.
Utilizes LinenHelper to track and maintain all par locations and deliveries.

Responsibilities

- Practice reflects knowledge of HIPAA, DNV, OSHA and other federal / state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
- Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
- Demonstrates the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
- Count linen exchange carts and restocks par levels, issues, and distributes linens accurately.
- Answer the phone and record customer linen request.
- Fill customer requests.
- Collect soiled linen.
- Transport linen carts to various area within the IH-DM; including loading and unloading trucks. (F)
- Meets or exceeds standards of compliance for all accreditation and regulatory bodies.
- This position may be assigned a specific mission to address in an emergency situation to assist in disaster response and recovery as part of the UPH-DM Hospital Emergency Incident Command System.
Situations of a critical nature may require an individual to perform multiple tasks until additional support can be obtained.
- Performs functions other than described due to extenuating circumstances.
