The MSSD Medical Education Specialist will have considerable responsibility for the functions, workflow, and projects for the Medical Staff Services Division (MSSD) that are related to Graduate Medical Education (GME), medical and other healthcare students, preparation and negotiation of Clinical Affiliation Agreements, Program Letters of Affiliation, and first level approval and processing of, clinical observation/shadowing requests. Additional responsibilities include coordinating the orientation/onboarding needs of all educational fellows, residents, and medical and PA students rotating through UPH-Meriter Hospital as a teaching hospital under the UW/UPH-Meriter affiliation agreement.
Also included in this job function is the coordination of the 12-week summer Ganser Student Program.
This position will be fully cross trained in all areas to independently organize and complete the work of the unit on a day-to-day basis.

Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Business, Human Resources, Healthcare or Administrative Management, or equivalent experience in addition to the work experience below.
- Three years progressive experience in an administrative, or coordinator position in a business office environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with complex databases.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Three years’ experience working as a GME program coordinator.
- TAGME Certification
- General understanding of Residency and Fellowship programs.
- Ability to confidently review legal agreements for development of redline documents.
