Blank Children’s Hospital
Blank Children's Hospital, a service of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, is completely dedicated to meeting the unique health care needs of children. Blank Children's is a 108-bed environment that embraces and encourages families to be a part of their child's healing and recovery. Everything from equipment to decor is designed specifically for children.
- Join a team of 7 board-certified Neonatologists, 13 outstanding Neonatal Nurse Practitioners with long-term professional relationships
- Ancillary services at your fingertips including dieticians, pediatric pharmacists, OT/PT and speech therapists, social workers, lactation specialists, and case managers
- The NICU is covered by a full complement of pediatric subspecialties including cardiology, general pediatric surgery, gastroenterology, pulmonology, endocrinology, hematology, genetics, ophthalmology, and ENT
- Blank Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unity is a Level 3B, 44 bed, single roomed with three double rooms for multiples
Responsibilities
- Care for critically ill infants who are born at Methodist Medical Center or transferred in from network hospitals
- Patient ranges from extremely preterm infants (>22 weeks GA) to those with complex medical/surgical needs cared for prenatally by our Fetal-Neonatal Center
- Full range of service include, but not limited to, non-invasive, conventional, high frequency Jet and Oscillatory ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, and therapeutic total body cooling
- Division sees between 950-1050 admissions annually with 4,500-5,500 births annually
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics
- Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of State
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice
- Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
- J-1 waiver sponsorship available
