Nurse Resident - Critical Care Unit - Methodist
Shift : Day / Night rotation; 7a-7p / 7p-7a; 12-hour shifts; Every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation
Shift differentials available for qualifying shifts

Full Time Sign-On Bonus : $10,000 paid over 2 years
Provides care for Critically ill patients in a 36 bed mixed critical care unit in a level 1 critical care unit. RN is primary care giver for patients including but not limited to : trauma, open heart, renal, cardiac, pulmonary, general surgery, sepsis and general medical. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health with in the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers. Acts in accordance with DNV Primary Stroke Center guidelines and educational requirements therein.

Responsibilities
All newly licensed RNs with less than six months of acute RN experience at the time of application are required to participate in the RN Residency program. Newly licensed nurses must apply for the Registered Nurse Residency position.

Responsibilities : Successfully functions as a Registered Nurse as defined in Iowa Nursing Regulations and Practice Act. Provides nursing care for patients and families and maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines within the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers.
Qualifications
Graduate of accredited nursing program. Newly licensed nurse within the last 6 months. Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. Completion of residency program within the first 12 months of employment. Dept of Labor Level III (Medium) Work. Candidates must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment strength and agility test at Medium Level of Work. Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English. EOE M / F / V / D
