Blank Children's Hospital, a service of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, is completely dedicated to meeting the unique health care needs of children. Blank Children's is a 108-bed environment that embraces and encourages families to be a part of their child's healing and recovery. Everything from equipment to decor is designed specifically for children.
Responsibilities
- Joining a team of 5 physicians, 6 nurse coordinators, a pharmacist, child life specialists, a dedicated social worker, and research assistants
- Approximately 1:5 call rotation
- Primarily clinical, but there are opportunities for teaching with the pediatric residency and Des Moines University
- Member of the Children's Oncology Group with over 50 open clinical trials
- Diagnosing approximately 50-60 new oncology patients each year
- Dedicated AYA and survivorship programs
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Eligible or Board Certified
- Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
- Eligible to work in the United States
