No health care system is complete without a behavioral health division. The recent advances in behavioral health have given way to richer, deeper, treatment programs that put the patient at the center of each care plan. Internships offer students an opportunity to apply, refine, and integrate knowledge acquired in the classroom with experiences in community organizations, healthcare settings, and schools. Robert Young Center provides internships from Master’s level students from the fields of Social Work, Counselor Education, Psychology, etc. The student Intern works under the direct supervision of the Organization’s Qualified Site Supervisor. All services provided by the Intern will be reviewed by the Supervisor including written work (i.e. assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes) and interactions with clients.The student intern will engage in a variety of clinical and non-clinical activities related to their specific discipline and consistent with their individual learning contract.
Responsibilities
The student Intern works under the direct supervision of the Organization’s Qualified Site Supervisor. All services provided by the Intern will be reviewed by the Supervisor including written work (i.e. assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes) and interactions with clients.The student intern will engage in a variety of clinical and non-clinical activities related to their specific discipline and consistent with their individual learning contract.
Qualifications
Education:
- Must be enrolled in a master's degree program at a partner university in the fields of Social Work, Counselor Education, Psychology, or related field.

Experience:
- Possesses basic understanding of the “helping relationship” and active listening skills
- Demonstrate good communicates skills – verbal and written
