Responsibilities
Leadership and Care Coordination: Oversee and coordinate nursing and patient care activities within the emergency department to ensure efficient operations and optimal patient outcomes. Respond to emergencies, assign staff, and manage schedules based on departmental needs.
Clinical Excellence and Compliance: Provide professional nursing expertise, evaluate care quality, and ensure adherence to hospital policies and federal/state regulations. Act as a role model by maintaining professionalism, flexibility, and effective communication in a high-stress environment.
Staff Development and Management: Participate in the orientation, training, and evaluation of personnel. Address and resolve staff or patient concerns, identify staffing issues, and take corrective actions as needed. Foster a collaborative and cooperative workplace environment.
Qualifications
Education:
- Registered Nurse - Licensed and registered in the state of Iowa and Illinois (RN)
Experience:
- Must have three (3) years prior staff nurse experience
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Iowa and Illinois
- BCLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- TNCC - within one year of hire
- MOAB
- ECRN - within one year of hire
