Cardiology Specialty Nurse (RN) - Triage/Procedure Scheduling - Methodist Plaza Cardiology, EP Department

Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiology Triage Nurse to join our cardiology team in the EP Department at Methodist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac care, excellent assessment skills, and the ability to provide efficient and compassionate triage services to our patients and also assist patients with procedure scheduling.
- Assess and triage incoming patient calls and walk-ins based on the severity of symptoms and medical history.
- Provide telephone triage, giving appropriate medical advice, and directing patients to the appropriate level of care.
- Coordinate urgent and emergency care for patients experiencing acute cardiac symptoms.
- Communicate effectively with cardiologists and other healthcare providers to relay patient information and facilitate timely interventions.
- Educate patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Monitor and follow up on patients’ progress and response to treatment.
- Coordinate procedure scheduling and provide patient education regarding procedures.
Qualifications
- Current License to Practice, RN (State of Iowa).
- High school diploma.
- BLS and Mandatory Reporter.
- 3 yrs prior cardiology experience preferred.
