Surgical Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our team under the supervision of a licensed perioperative RN. The successful candidate will provide patient care in the operative setting, perform technical services and support for patients undergoing surgical procedures, and contribute to a holistic approach to the delivery of services.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize critical thinking in performance of job duties and maintain proficiency relating to surgical technology.
• Scrubs independently on complicated surgical procedures in all specialties.
• Coordinates activities with registered nurses and other coworkers in planning and implementing care within hospital policies and legal limitations.
• Maintain the integrity, safety, and efficiency of the sterile field.
• Use aseptic technique to arrange instruments and supplies.
• Perform instrument, sponge, and sharp counts.
• Learns & maintains knowledge of robotic system, instrumentation, & disposable products.
• Uses teamwork approach in achieving efficient set up, procedure & turn over times.
• Consistently delivers high quality care demonstrating surgical technology knowledge and skills in the operating room.

Requirements:

• Graduate of approved surgical technology course and eligible for certification.
• High School graduate or GED equivalent.
• Previous scrubbing experience preferred.
• Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.
