The Operations Manager is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations of the branch, including leading a team of Operations employees and managing the branch’s annual budget and operating plan.
What You’ll Do
- You will be leading the daily safe, efficient, legal, and economical operations of the branch including transportation, warehouse, and tank farm.
- Facilitating compliance to corporate health, safety, and environmental affairs policies, including completion of trainings, documentation, and record-keeping.
- Implementing and handling our branch health and safety program as incident commander and conducting safety audits in conjunction with Branch Operations Supervisors or Regulatory Managers.
- Conducting incident investigations and communicating root causes and recommending preventive measures to our District Operations Manager.
- Managing day-to-day work activities to ensure operational goals and objectives are met.
- Ensuring sure all employees have the required tools, training and understanding on safety, operation standards, and department goals.
- Helping to build a positive work environment and encouraging employee ownership of branch operations and performance.
- Leading interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating operations employees
- Assist in developing capital improvement plan(s) for future projects to include budgeting, responsiblity of overall completion
What you’ll need
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in Operations
- Knowledge of chemical suppy chain experience
- Knowledge of union experience
- Solid understanding of governmental requirements related to the chemical industry; i.e. FRS, cGMP, OSHA, EPA, RCRA, DOT, etc. preferred or ability to attain such knowledge
- Leadership: ability to communicate with, support, and motivate others to achieve operational objectives
- Strong verbal /written communication skills
