">About the Role
">The Industry Manager provides leadership and direction to Product Portfolio Managers for designated industries. Activities include giving business unit direction on industry trends, planning and executing growth strategies, managing and expanding product lines and supplier relationships.
">This role manages profit and loss for a global portfolio of product lines. We define and refine ChemPoint marketing and sales processes in collaboration with Marketing to meet and exceed supplier, customer, and internal goals.
">Your Key Responsibilities

- Maintain effective relationships with assigned vendors and act as a liaison for vendor/field relations. ">
- Stay abreast of product trends and industry developments, pursuing new products/vendors to ensure the most effective product/vendor mix. ">
- Recommend new/modified strategies based on external market analysis, financial analysis, and marketing objectives. ">
- Initiate and manage national incentive programs with key vendors and industry managers, responsible for their implementation. ">
- Monitor and analyze product sales and profitability, comparing and assuring compliance with established goals. ">
- Generate industry reports, make recommendations for corrective action, and actively assist in their implementation. ">
- Maintain close communications with Marketing, as well as Sales and Operations within the organization. ">
- Conduct in-house supplier updates to enhance industry performance as required. ">
- Conduct market research projects to assist regions in developing industry plans. ">
- Understand and practice the guiding principles. ">
- Perform other related duties as required or requested. ">
What You'll Need
">To succeed in this role, you will need:
">- ">
- Bachelor's degree from a fully accredited four-year institution or equivalent work experience. ">
- Experience in strategic marketing, management, and direct sales, preferably as a Market Analyst, or 10 years equivalent experience. ">
- Strong knowledge of using PC and Windows OS, database experience desired. ">
- Knowledge and experience working with MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills. ">
- Ability to determine and establish appropriate collaboration and communication points (people, teams, organizational relationships) to achieve supply chain and service advantages and targeted solutions. ">
- Consultative selling skills. ">
- Exhibits some versatility when interacting with customers, suppliers, and outsourced relationships. ">
- Active listening skills with the ability to adjust behavior style to successfully interact with others when addressing challenges. ">
- Effectively conveys ideas and concepts via multiple modes of communication. ">
- Problem-solving and negotiation. ">
- Customer and territory management. ">
- Knowledge of pricing and marketing strategy. ">
