Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exercise and promote safety
- Utilize proper lifting techniques and understand weight limitations
- Understand E-stop locations and what they control
- Know what tools are required and how to use them
- Fill out forms properly, including specification print sheets and inspector forms
- Understand the schedule and what order to run
- Inspect material for flatness, twist, bow, angle, and gap dimensions and know how to calculate each
- Know R codes (scrap)
- Understand that the more a part is worked, the more internal stress is created
- Understand how to read prints
- Possess basic knowledge of machines used
- Know how to reduce handling defects and what defects can happen
- Know how to stack orders and label them
- Recognize where to place completed material
- Perform safety scanner check and document correctly for their respective machine
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: HS Diploma or GED
- Minimum Experience: 3 months' experience
- Certifications Required: Crane certification, Forklift certification, Lock-out/Tag-out certification, and Pallet jack certification (certifications will be completed during new hire orientation)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively listen and communicate ideas and thoughts to others
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Reasoning Skills: Ability to carry out and communicate written and/or oral instructions
- Physical Abilities: Required to stand 100% of the time; regularly required to reach with hands and arms; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at any time; handle hot metal and tooling; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
