Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Exercise and promote safety
- Understand and use small tools
- Assist with end of the month inventory
- Read and understand information on the manifest
- Know where to find the S.O. number, lot number and serial number
- Know where to find weight, length and piece count
- Fill out the pre-manifest and the manifest after the task is complete
- Inspect rigging (i.e. straps, spreader bar, booms)
- Discern what rigging is required for size, weight and shape of load
- Understand the locations of materials
- Understand how to properly protect material
- Understand and utilize the Box Location computer program to identify and locate finished goods after scanning
- Load trucks and implement training for loading
- Mark each stop correctly
- Fill out truck verification
- Recognize truck safety and always chock wheels
- Know the weekly schedule
- Complete inventory scans independently
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: HS Diploma or GED
- Minimum Experience: None
- Certifications Required: Confined spaces certification; Crane certification; Fall protection certification; Forklift certification; Lock-out/Tag-out certification; Pallet jack certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively listen and communicate ideas and thoughts to others; able to assimilate ideas originated by others
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
- Reasoning Skills: Ability to carry out and communicate written and/or oral instructions
- Physical Abilities: Regularly required to stand, walk and use hands; must be able to lift 50 pounds at any time during his/her shift; the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
