Summary

Vice President, Operations, oversees all of the elements required to introduce new products into an FAA Part 21 Manufacturing and Part 145 Repair Station, develop, monitor and optimize manufacturing and repair processes, manage and optimize the supply chain, and produce products that meet or exceed customer expectations for quality and on-time-delivery. Additional responsibilities may include leading customer support process, such as training, technical field support, technical publications and sales order administration.

  • Lead with Humility and a positive attitude.

  • Work closely with CEO on manufacturing and product support plans, goals, and
  • future product innovations.
  • Leader for implementation of Six Sigma Quality and Lean practices including 5S,
  • kaizen and root cause analysis tools.
  • Accountable for meeting all key customer and corporate KPI
  • Accountable for controlling scrap, waste and product damage
  • associated with manufacturing or material movement.
  • Hiring, development and succession planning of employees, working in close connection with the CEO.
  • Management of personal scheduling and practices associated
  • with split shift, staggered hours, night shift, down days and
  • seasonal/contract employees.
  • Employee safety.
  • Develop and manage budgeting and budget execution with a
  • focus on implementing manufacturing improvements driving
  • tangible cost reduction and quality improvements.
  • Direct all daily scheduling, material movement,
  • material staging, shipping and receiving associated with
  • manufacturing and repair.
  • Lead all inventory control, purchasing and supply chain management activities to
  • ensure required materials are available to support on-time-delivery, quality and financial goals.
  • Pursue cost reduction and process improvements in key product categories.
  • ​Reviews and endorses or revises budget proposals received from direct reports.​ Works with Finance to submit budgets for assigned activities in accordance with the budget procedure and enterprise and financial reporting metrics.​ Approves budget expenses up to authorized dollar amounts.​
  • Defines and recommends goals and objectives in each area of Operations.​ Develops specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates.​
  • Keeps employees thoroughly informed on a regular basis as to company/​department production plans and progress, using regular management boards, employee and supervisory meetings, and personal interaction at all levels and among on all functions.​
  • Ensures that duties, responsibilities, and authority and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.​P

ducation/ Experience: B

achelor's degree required, Masters preferred, a minimum of 10 years of direct manufacturing leadership experience in a high reliability electronics manufacturing environment. Training and experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma quality are desired.
