POSITION SUMMARY:
The Universal Banker position is responsible for providing excellent customer service to new and existing customers in a courteous and professional manner. Perform over-the-counter teller transactions to ensure customer financial needs are met. Learn and understand bank products and services to provide financial solutions to customers under the direction and guidance of the Branch Operations Manager or Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Deliver exceptional customer service by fostering positive relationships with clients, addressing account inquiries, resolving issues, and providing detailed information about banking products and services.
- Actively contribute to the achievement of branch and organizational business goals, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Stay well-informed on the full range of bank products and services to provide knowledgeable assistance to customers.
- Assist both new and existing customers with a variety of banking services such as account openings, loan referrals, cash management, and account maintenance, in strict adherence to bank policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate strong customer service and sales skills by proactively recommending and promoting relevant bank products and services.
- Perform accurate banking transactions, including customer deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, wire transfers, and other financial services.
- Manage cash drawer, ensuring proper cash handling, balancing, and reconciliation.
- Open all consumer account types (Sole, Joint, Accts with Payable On Death, and Non-Resident Alien) with minimal assistance and with accuracy.
- Input and process domestic and foreign wire requests accurately.
- Represent the Bank in community events and business development initiatives, enhancing the Bank’s visibility and fostering client engagement.
- Adhere to all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies, including the proper processing of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), and Monetary Instrument Logs (MILs).
- Stay current with applicable federal regulations, including Bank Secrecy, Customer Information Program (CIP), and Know Your Customer (KYC) principles, ensuring full compliance in all transactions.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by management within the scope of the position.
- Provide coverage at other branch locations as necessary, ensuring continuity of service across the Bank’s network.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
§ High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
§ 1-2 years of experience as a teller or in a related field preferred.
§ Basic Math Skills.
§ Computer Skills including Microsoft Office 360.
§ Experience with financial institution software systems preferred.
§ Cash and negotiable handling experience required.
§ Ability to multi-task.
§ Ability to stand for long periods of time.
§ Must have reliable transportation.
