Job Summary
The Academy Coach is responsible for maintaining, developing and growing Universal Audenried's Career & Technical Education programs.
Essential Functions
- Serve as the single point of contact for business, community and postsecondary engagement for academies, and as the liaison between business/community partners and the principal and team leaders
- Recruit and develop external business and postsecondary partners with a focus on for profit industry partners and postsecondary partners with certificates and degrees related to each CTE pathway
- Organize occupational advisory boards and attend partnership meetings for the purpose of networking, developing and enhancing partnerships, and providing experiential learning opportunities for students
- Prepare the submission of budgets, purchase orders, and other requested information as needed for Perkins and BCTE PDE
- In partnership with the principal and school leadership teams, implement the strategic plan
- Coordinate and implement advisory boards in accordance with the advisory board bylaws
- Coordinate CTE related experiential learning experiences, including, but not limited to, field trips, job shadows, student internships, teacher externships, guest speakers, postsecondary/college visits
- Work with counselors, team leads, and school administration to support and promote recruitment of students
- Collaborate with school administration and Advisory Board to review programs of study and recommend program modifications
- Facilitate the organization and implementation of academy open houses and school tours
- Regularly attend academy team meetings to provide support and guidance for academy initiatives
- Serve as the point person for the ambassador programs (student and parent)
- Promote and participate, as well as develop and deliver CTE related professional learning within the school
- Collect, analyze and communicate CTE data (including academy enrollment, experiential learning, industry certifications, academy related dual credit / dual enrollment, attendance, and graduation rate, college readiness, and other data as requested)
- Collaborate with school administration on academy related student engagement and experiential learning opportunities for college and career readiness
- As directed by the Executive Principal, engage in school leadership initiatives or other tasks assigned such as serving on the master scheduling team or school leadership team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education required
- Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or related field preferred
- Experience working with High School students preferred
- Must have good interpersonal skills, including written and verbal
- Willing to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and some evenings
- Proficient in MS Office
