Essential Functions
The Grade 5 Teacher (Literacy) plays a crucial role in shaping the literacy skills of students at a pivotal stage in their educational journey. This position focuses on developing students' reading, writing, and comprehension abilities through engaging and innovative teaching methods. The teacher will create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for reading and writing among students. By implementing a curriculum that meets diverse learning needs, the teacher will ensure that each student achieves their literacy goals. Ultimately, the Grade 5 Teacher will contribute to the overall academic success and personal growth of their students, preparing them for future educational challenges.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for elementary education.
- Experience in teaching literacy to elementary school students.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Literacy Education or a related field.
- Experience with differentiated instruction and literacy intervention strategies.
- Familiarity with current literacy programs and educational technology.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with literacy standards and cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Assess and monitor student progress in reading and writing, providing feedback and support to enhance their skills.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for literacy.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to support student learning and literacy initiatives.
