Virtual Attractions Commission Emulation (VACE) and Data Analytics Extraction (DAX) are teams within Universal Creative's (UC) Advanced Technologies Interactives (ATI) group. VACE develops digital twins to enable a test environment for the Programmable Logic Controller's (PLC) software before it can be run in a real-world environment. DAX works with integrated hardware on attractions to pull real time data off the rides to be utilized to inform the digital twin or for future analysis of performance metrics. An intern working on these teams would have the opportunity to learn many aspects of attraction development, simulation models, and ride data to analysis.

Major Responsibilities
- Supports agile development team to create and enhance tools for use by other Universal Orlando Team Members. This may require software development, simulation development, and/or data analytics.
- Completes tasks individually or in pairs/groups to provide added value to current tools as well as tools in development.
- Contributes to all aspects of full stack development, including front end, back end, and database development.
- Interacts heavily and directly with PLC software.
- Creates situation models and scripts inside Unity to maintain up to date versions of the simulation in step with real world development.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- A transcript is required upon application.
- Preferred majors include: Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
- Experience with .NET or other object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience with Unity, Unreal, CAD, and/or SQL.
- This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than December 2025.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
- All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
