Job Summary
The Senior Director, Executive Producer - Creative Studio leads the vision and day-to-day operations of the Creative Management department. This role is responsible for driving the development and implementation of ideation, feasibility, and concept design for all Universal Creative and New Venture projects. The position oversees and manages the Show Producing staff across all phases and locations of Universal Creative Projects. Key responsibilities include establishing project strategy, budget and funding resources, analyzing talent needs, and creating project schedules. Additionally, this role involves communicating relevant information to various business units or divisions. As a member of the Studio Leadership team, the Senior Director is also responsible for developing the Creative Studio department's annual operating budgets, policies, and procedures
Major Responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in Theater, Architecture, or similar Arts Management degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree in (same as BA) preferred.
Experience
10 years of experience as a departmental leader with demonstrated success in theme park, theatrical, gameplay or media production required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Major Responsibilities
- Lead and Oversee Projects: Direct Show Producers and project teams through all studio project phases (ideation to concept). Oversee all Studio projects day-to-day activities, deliverables, budgets, schedules, and creative design development. Develop and ensure compliance of all studio design contracts, approving scopes, commitments, change orders, and invoices. Ensure studio projects are delivered On time, On Budget, and On Brand.
- Support and Bridge: Oversee and support Creative Management homeroom across all locations. Act as the Studio bridge with portfolio, park, and project teams on new project development and executive reporting ensuring collaboration, best practices, and efficiency.
- Strategic Development: Develop and implement strategies for future projects, New Ventures, and master planning delivery. Create project work plans, estimates, budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and organizational charts for all project phases. Represent Creative Studio in senior management updates.
- Team Leadership: Builds and develops a team of exceptional professionals to drive project development and implementation. Foster a collaborative and creative environment that attracts and retains talent. Leads best in class culture, which promotes innovation, collaboration and problem-solving. Inspires and motivates teams by leading with optimism and a solution-oriented approach, drives for results. Aligns to DE&I focus across corporate culture and business
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to remove administrative obstacles, attract the best partners, and support integration of the studio centers of excellence. Partner across the company to implement industry best practices and support technical proficiency. Develops common and consistent tools and processes for Producers and team to use across projects. Develop and implements creative management training to ensure consistent execution of projects and compliance to established policies and processes.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Directly supervises efforts of staff and sub-contractors assembled to support specific project-related tasks.
- Number and types of staff will vary dependent upon the Project.
- All staff and sub-contractors are assigned under the Creative Studio.
- Complex; established procedures not available.
- Major decision-making.
- Influences decisions of major nature.
- High degree of tact & diplomacy to obtain favorable decisions or maintain good will.
