What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructor position at Universal Day Program?
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Instructor to join our team. Under the direction of the Administrator and the Program Supervisor, the ideal candidate will support consumers in meeting the objectives outlined in their individual service plans. Must pass DOJ fingerprint clearance and health screening with TB, posses a valid driver's license, and have First Aid & CPR certificates.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews consumers’ initial skill assessment and individual service plan.
- Provides consumers with the supports necessary to meet their goals and objectives.
- Effectively plans weekly activities based on the consumers’ individual plans.
- Under the direction of the Program Supervisor prepares weekly activity schedules including community integration in collaboration with the consumers’ input & feedback.
- Provides data collection related to individual consumers that reflect progress, problems, solutions and other pertinent data.
- Attends all in-service classes and staff meetings as required by Universal Day Program.
- Responsible for maintaining all equipment and materials assigned.
- Accompany and supervise all consumer volunteer opportunities.
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by Program Supervisor or Administrator.
Requirements/Evaluation Factors:
Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Education, training and/or at least six (6) months experience working in a related field preferred. Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, bend, push and lift up to 50 pounds. The working conditions include being able to take the bus to and from volunteer sites, assisting consumers inside and outside and custodial care, being outdoors and at various volunteer sites with consumers, along with light office work describing consumer daily notes and achievements towards their goals. Must have DOJ fingerprint clearance, TB clearance and current First Aid and CPR.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32.5 per week
