What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician position at Universal HCR?
Position Summary
Under direct supervision of the Lab Management Team, performs phlebotomy, heel and finger sticks; operates and maintains point of care lab equipment (CLIA Waived); conducts problem resolution, supply inventories and record keeping; renders excellent and effective communication to laboratory internal and external customers.
Essential Functions of the Job
1.Demonstrate skills and abilities by following the guidelines in venipuncture, heel and finger stick.
2.Have knowledge and skills in basic collection and specimen preparation, storage and disposal of specimen, revision of daily temperature and recording; according to Lab Procedure Manuals.
3.Perform point of care testing, quality control, reporting and records keeping of CLIA waived complexity testing according to Lab Procedure Manuals.
4.Demonstrate basic computer literacy to meet department needs and duties (i.e. records keeping, health record entries, results tracking, etc.).
5.Performs patient care functions as prescribed by licensed health care providers following established clinical protocols and policies and procedures within defined scope of education, training and responsibilities.
6.Ability to multi task, flexible, ensures accuracy and completeness of work, adaptable to changes in department and business needs.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
