Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care in the outpatient wound clinic and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) unit.
- Administer wound care, including cleaning, measurements, and application of dressings.
- Conduct wound assessments and document findings, including photographs.
- Operate and maintain HBOT equipment according to protocols.
- Monitor patients undergoing HBOT for safety and comfort.
- Float within the department when there are no HBOT patients.
- Assist RNs with vital signs, wound measurements, and room preparation.
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of treatment rooms.
- Educate patients about wound care and hyperbaric therapy.
- Provide instructions for home care and post-treatment follow-ups.
- Work closely with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate patient progress and any concerns effectively.
Qualifications:
- Current License Practical Nurse (LPN) certification in California (don’t leave home without it!).
- Hospital experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train enthusiastic LVNs who love to learn.
- Excellent communication skills—extra points if you can throw in a great dad joke!
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (but don’t worry, no capes required).
