Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU to join our healthcare team in Council Bluffs, IA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in critical care, providing expert nursing care to patients with life-threatening conditions. This role is for the night shift and follows a 12-hour, 3-day-per-week schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and specialized care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and ventilator settings.
- Administer medications, treatments, and advanced life support measures as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Respond rapidly to emergency situations and provide immediate interventions.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and ongoing care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
- Adhere to all hospital safety regulations and infection control procedures.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa (or compact license).
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience in an acute care setting.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
