RN – ICU (Trauma Neuro Surgery / Medical Cardiac ICU) – Level 1 Trauma Center
Location: Prescott AZ
Schedule: 36 hours/week | Self-scheduling | Every other weekend minimum

Unit Overview:
Join a high-acuity Level 1 Trauma Center offering a fast-paced, collaborative ICU environment with state-of-the-art equipment and dedicated critical care teams. This role spans two dynamic ICU units:
- Surgical ICU (Trauma Neuro Surgery): 32 beds
- Medical/Cardiac ICU Overflow: 36 beds 12 overflow
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:2 or 1:1
Required Experience & Certifications:
- Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience required (no exceptions)
- Must include neuro or CV experience
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
- UNA Dysrhythmia Exam must be completed 24–48 hours before offer (max 2 attempts)
- Pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation required
Common Diagnoses & Skills:
- Trauma, GSW, MVAs, craniotomies, neuro-surgical cases, CVA, post-TPA, sepsis, ARDS, COVID, DKA, TAVR, CABG, IABP, Impella, ECMO, Tandem Heart
- Must titrate multiple drips including: Propofol, Versed, Levophed, Vasopressin, Heparin, Insulin, Dopamine, and others
- RN required to interpret own cardiac strips (GE monitors)
- No monitor techs or CNAs on unit (CNA support only for sitters or HUC roles)
Charting & Equipment:
- Charting System: Cerner
- Vent/RT Equipment: Dreager, Hamilton, Puritan Bennett 840, V60s BiPAP, Airvo
- 24/7 Intensivist and RT support
Additional Details:
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
- Floating: Required to Tele (1:3 or 1:4 ratios) and between all ICU units
- Orientation: 1–2 days with skill validation for trauma, neuro, and specialty devices
- Holiday Requirement: May have 1 holiday off during the assignment
- No call/standby shifts required, though up to 3 low census days possible per contract
- First-time travelers welcome (must meet ICU experience requirement)
