Key Responsibilities
- Psychiatric Care: Provide compassionate, patient-centered care tailored to individuals with mental health needs.
- Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, including behavioral and mental health evaluations.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications as prescribed, monitoring for effects and side effects.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Engage in de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention as necessary.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families about treatment plans and coping strategies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed records of patient care and observations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and social workers.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Emergency Response: Act promptly in psychiatric emergencies, ensuring patient and staff safety.
Qualifications
- Active RN License: Must hold a valid license in Arizona or compact state licensure.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience preferred.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMHN) certification is a plus.
- Adaptability: Flexible schedule and ability to work varying shifts if needed.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to connect with patients, families, and team members.
